Thomas Mack
Thomas Mack was born on 4th January 1981 in Lahr. He grew up in Rust, where he also attended primary school. He graduated from the secondary school in neighbouring Ettenheim in 2000.
Thomas Mack is the son of Europa-Park owner Roland Mack and his wife Marianne. He has two siblings, Michael (born on 21st December 1978) and Ann-Kathrin (born on 19th October 1989).
From 2001 to 2006, Thomas Mack studied at the renowned Swiss hotel management school in Lucerne. He completed his studies as a qualified hotelier with the best thesis of his year.
Thomas Mack gained his first experience working in the family business from a young age, working in the departments for attractions, F&B, hotels and technology among others.
He completed numerous internships both during and after his studies, including at the Relais & Chateau Hotel Dollenberg in Bad Peterstal-Griesbach, the gourmet restaurant ‘Au Crocodile’ in Strasbourg, the Paris luxury hotel ‘Le Meurice’ and the South African Seidelberg winery.
Thomas Mack further gained international experience in well-known international theme parks such as Gardaland (ITA), Bush Gardens Williamsburg/VA (USA) and Warner Bros. Movie World/Queensland (AUS).
Since May 2016, Thomas Mack has been one of the Managing Partners of Europa-Park and is now responsible for the Hotel Resort, F2B, Operations & Services as well as the Confertainment and Entertainment departments.
On 3rd February 2020 the ahgz - Allgemeine Hotel- und Gastronomie-Zeitung (Germany) awarded Thomas, Michael and Ann-Kathrin Mack with the coveted industry award ‘Hotelier of the Year’. This prestigious award honours outstanding achievements in the hotel industry.
On 21st September 2020, Thomas Mack was voted ‘Successful Gastronomer of the Year’ at the ‘FIZZZ Awards 2020’. Season 2025.
Together with F&B expert Oliver Altherr, Thomas Mack develops the unique gastronomy concept Eatrenalin. The restaurant world-first opened on 04. November 2022 in Rust, Germany, and combines top-class culinary art with multi-sensory elements to create an experience like no other in the world.
At the 26th Busche Gala, where the prestigious Schlemmer and Schlummer Atlas Awards were presented in November 2023, Thomas Mack was honoured as the 'Innovator of the Year’. Since 1998, the awards presented by the editors have honoured personalities and companies that have made a pioneering contribution to the world of hospitality.
At the ROLLING PIN.AWARDS GERMANY 2024, Thomas Mack was honoured as ‘Restaurateur of the Year’ together with the Director Food & Beverage of the Europa-Park Adventure Resort Frank Müller. With this award, Rolling Pin honours personalities who have a lasting positive influence on the catering industry through their role model effect, their courage and their creativity.
In November 2024, Thomas Mack was honoured with the ‘blooloop Award’ as an ‘Immersive Influencer’. Every year, the magazine highlights personalities who make an important contribution to the leisure industry.
Thomas Mack has been married to Katja Mack since 2013. They have two sons together.
