Mission Vision
Become a Mentor

If you’re looking to connect with the next generation of attractions professionals and use your knowledge to shape the future of the industry, then participating as a Mentor with IAAPA is the place for you! An active IAAPA membership and minimum of 5 years of experience in the attractions industry are required.

Take your career in the attractions industry to the next level by matching with an IAAPA Mentor! Connect with seasoned professionals to gain valuable insights and build your network. Current IAAPA members 35 or under are eligible to apply for this program.
Program Information

- Time Commitment: The program is designed to be flexible and impactful. At minimum, Mentor-Mentee pairs are expected to meet once per quarter (4 sessions total). However, many pairs choose to connect more frequently based on mutual availability.
- Meetings can be held virtually or in-person based off location and availability. Mentors and Mentees are responsible for scheduling meetings together.
- Both Mentor and Mentee must be active IAAPA members in good standing to participate.
- Program Timeline
- Sept. 30, 2025 – Final date to submit 2026 Applications
- Dec. 2025 – Match introductions sent via email
- Jan. 2026 – Kickoff meeting
- June 2026- Midway check-in meeting
Make the Most of the IAAPA Mentorship Program
Expand all- Learn about your Mentor/Mentee
- Share Resumes, your “who, what, and why”
- Plan meeting logistics: Phone call, skype, zoom, teams, in person, or at an IAAPA event!
- Test your apps and equipment before your meeting.
- Be sure to respect your counterpart’s time by showing up on time and minimizing external distractions.
- Outline a goal or agenda for the meeting to help keep the conversation on topic.
- Take notes to help track progress.
- Don’t be shy to ask each other questions to make the most of the learning opportunity.
- Try to walk away from each session with a goal to work on before the next.
- Reflect on the session, and what the goals are for the next one.
- Try to implement feedback or look for topics, questions, or learning opportunities to bring to your next conversation.
- Follow up within 24 hours to schedule the next meeting.
- Be sure to communicate any conflicts or changes as early as possible but be mindful of each other’s time when communicating between sessions.
