What made you get into the attractions industry?
What inspired me to join this industry was recognizing a tremendous opportunity. Shopping malls needed new ways to attract visitors and offer experiences that couldn't be replaced by online shopping. I saw that family entertainment could become a powerful driver of foot traffic, creating memorable experiences, bringing people together, and giving new life to these spaces. From that moment on, I realized that we weren't just building parks; we were creating places where families could connect, laugh, and enjoy quality time together.
What piece of advice would you give someone new wanting to join the industry?
My biggest piece of advice is to experience the industry firsthand. Visit as many parks as you can, both those that are doing things exceptionally well and those that still have room for improvement. Attend IAAPA Expo, connect with operators, suppliers, and manufacturers, and never stop learning.
But above all, don't try to simply copy what already exists. Our industry evolves because of those who dare to innovate and create new experiences that surprise and delight their guests. Creativity and execution are what truly make the difference.
How did you become the leader you are today?
I believe leadership is built every day. I've been fortunate to surround myself with an extraordinary team that shares a common vision and works with passion to bring it to life. My focus has always been on fostering a culture of collaboration, where everyone's ideas matter and growth is a collective effort.
I've also learned a great deal by observing and listening to industry leaders, both within and beyond IAAPA. In my experience, some of the most important ingredients for becoming a better leader are maintaining a mindset of continuous learning, having the courage to innovate, and surrounding yourself with people who are better than you.
