Sustainability is a strategic priority for IAAPA, and Expo Europe 2026 is working toward sustainability certification as part of this commitment. Achieving certification requires collaboration across all stakeholders, including exhibitors.
While the certification primarily focuses on IAAPA as the event organizer, certain requirements also apply to exhibitors and contribute directly to meeting the certification criteria.
Please ensure that the applicable requirements outlined below are met.
Sustainability awareness (mandatory)
Exhibitors should be aware that IAAPA prioritizes sustainability and is working toward Expo certification. See the previous section “About IAAPA Expo Europe Sustainability Certification” for more information.
Booth staff should:
- Be familiar with IAAPA’s sustainability statement and policy.
- Be informed and able to communicate relevant sustainability efforts.
Eco-labeled coffee (mandatory if served at the booth)
Any coffee served must be eco-labeled/sustainability certified (e.g., organic or fair trade).
Green meals (mandatory if served at the booth)
If food is offered, at least one vegetarian option must be available.
Eco-labeled cleaning products (mandatory if used at the booth)
Cleaning products used at the booth must be eco-labeled/sustainability certified.
Minimize giveaways (encouraged)
Exhibitors are encouraged to avoid physical giveaways. Alternatives may include digital content access, entries to a prize draw or experience, or a charitable contribution.
If physical giveaways are provided, they should be reusable, practical, and made from sustainable materials (e.g., recycled materials, responsibly grown natural fibers, non-toxic and/or biodegradable materials).
If electronic giveaways are provided, they should be durable, useful, and battery-free (e.g., hand-powered or solar-powered items).
