Vince Gortner

Vince Gortner is the Senior Director of Guest Experience and Safety at The Morton Arboretum in Lisle, Illinois. He oversees admissions, special events, retail, and food service operations, with a focus on aligning revenue strategy, guest experience, and day-to-day execution. He has led the implementation of dynamic pricing strategies for both general admission and large-scale public events, including the Arboretum’s winter Illumination exhibition, where pricing, attendance, and on-site operations must work together within real-world constraints such as capacity, weather, and guest behavior. Prior to joining the Arboretum, Vince spent over 20 years in law enforcement, where he developed a foundation in leadership, risk management, and operational planning. He brings a practical, systems-based approach to complex challenges, integrating financial performance, guest experience, and safety into a unified operational strategy.
