Kelly Johnson

Kelly Johnson is currently an Executive Ride Project Engineer at Walt Disney Imagineering. Kelly has over 20 years experience in the amusement park industry and has been with the Walt Disney Company since 2004.
He has a successful track record in leading large-scale US domestic and international projects from concept to completion. With Disney, he has worked in both park operations and new ride development.
He currently serves as the Vice Chair of the ASTM F24.24 subcommittee responsible for Design & Manufacturing. In addition, he is a lead contributor on current task groups working on new F24 standards including Risk Assessment, Life Cycle Management, Ride modifications and international harmonization efforts. He is also a member of IAAPA APAC Safety committee and a member of five TEA Award winning projects. Earlier this year, Kelly was a special invited guest speaker at China Mechanical Engineering Society: Amusement Machinery Engineering Branch annual conference held in Dali, China to discuss ASTM F24 and the current harmonization efforts.
He is a licensed Professional Engineer, an IAAPA Certified Attractions Executive and holds advanced degrees in both Engineering and Business Administration.
He enjoys visiting other amusement parks around the world and has toured nearly 100 parks worldwide to study the industry, current best practices and different ride systems.
