Salam is the Manager of Conservation & Science at the Singapore Oceanarium, Resorts World Sentosa. He leads the Population Sustainability team and is a specialist in ex situ population management, with extensive experience in developing institutional population plans and advancing best practices in animal care, welfare, and management to support conservation efforts in the wild. He also serves as the Regional Coordinator (Asia) for the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and the SAFE (Saving Animals From Extinction) Sharks and Rays programme.
