  • Jürgen Mack was born in Freiburg im Breisgau on 03.06.1958, the second son to Franz and Liesl Mack.
  • Until upper secondary school, he lived in Waldkirch, attending the Waldkirch Gymnasium there.
  • Between 1978 and 1986, Jürgen Mack studied at Karlsruhe University, ending his studies with an engineer’s diploma from the Faculty of Engineering Management.
  • In 1979, Jürgen Mack became, alongside his father and brother, a Managing Partner of Europa-Park.
  • Jürgen Mack has been working at Europa-Park since 1986. He has also fulfilled internships and international experiences, amongst others, at different theme parks in the USA, as well as at the Mack Rides manufacturing company in Waldkirch.
  • Since 1988, Jürgen Mack has been responsible for the Show Department (since 2005), Human Resources, Finance and Controlling. At the Europa-Park Resort with Europa-Park, Rulantica and its hotels, he has also overseen the departments of Shopping and Gaming since 1996, as well as the Revision department since 2020.
  • Since 2005, Jürgen Mack has been a Managing Partner of Mack Rides in Waldkirch.
  • Jürgen Mack is supervisory board member of the Volksbank Lahr, having been Deputy Chairman of the board since 2013.
  • He has been a founding and board member of the Rust Chamber of Commerce since 1995.
  • On behalf of the President of Germany Horst Köhler, Secretary of State for Culture Helmut Rau conferred the Federal Order of Merit with Ribbon to Jürgen Mack on 28 June 2005.
  • On 9 April 2008, Jürgen Mack was honoured with the Lorenz Werthmann medal by Caritas for his social commitment.
  • From 20 August 2008 until the year 2016, Jürgen Mack was on the corporate advisory board for R+V Insurance.
  • On 11 October 2011, Jürgen Mack and his brother Roland were named Honorary Citizens of the French city of Sélestat for their commitment to Franco-German friendship.
  • On the occasion of the traditional New Year’s welcome by the Municipality of Rust on 11 January 2015, Jürgen Mack was awarded the Citizen’s Medal by the town. Mayor Kai-Achim Klare praised Jürgen Mack as a “Guarantor of commitment with a desire for consensus”.
  • On 31 March 2022, Jürgen Mack was named Chevalier de l’ordre des Palmes académiques – one of the highest French honours for commitment to the field of education in France. Since Europa-Park’s founding, the Mack family owning the park has committed itself to Franco-German relations.
  • Since 1992, Jürgen Mack has been married to engineering graduate and architect Mauritia Mack-Gnädig. Together, they have two children: son Frederik (31.05.1995) and daughter Alexia (25.05.2000).
