IAAPA Expo Asia 2025 Press Conference Stage

The stage is set! Attendees took their seats and listened to select manufacturers and suppliers who shared news of their latest innovations on the trade show floor. On the opening day of IAAPA Expo Asia 2025, noteworthy announcements included:

dof vr rides attractions

DOF

Sam Rhodes, DOF Robotics North America president, announced the launch of Mars Odyssey, an immersive tunnel experience featuring a 270-degree video screen, 6-DOF motion platform, and surround sound, set to open in Canada later this year. The company also unveiled Antelia Flying Theater in Istanbul, showcasing breakthrough visuals and DOF robotics. In 2026, two new regional offices will open in London and Shanghai to enhance global reach and client relationships. With over 50 research and development projects, DOF is integrating AI into entertainment systems for smarter experiences, expanding their creative department, and showcasing their signature hurricane ride at their booth on the trade show floor.

zierer rides new drifter ride attraction

Zierer

Representing Zierer, Jeroen Nijpels, owner and managing director of JNELC, showcased Zierer’s Drifter flat ride, making its debut in Asia. The ride allows riders to vehicle motion using a hand brake for an interactive experience. The first Drifter opened in Finland, and the next one is set to open at Tobu Zoo in Japan in 2026. The ride is customizable with unique theming elements and lighting for nighttime appeal.

Brogent

Stefan Rothaug, Brogent director of sales and marketing, has unveiled a new compact flying theater at their booth, designed to bring immersive experiences to virtually any location. With a height of just 4.5 meters, the system can fit into tight spaces like old cinemas, pop-up installations, concert venues, and even urban environments where space is limited. Despite its size, it offers the full premium flying theater experience, complete with access to Brogent’s licensed movie library. This innovation allows the technology to reach new audiences in unconventional locations, especially in densely populated Asian cities.

ProSlide

Ray Smegal and Steve Avery from ProSlide shared insights on their latest water ride innovations across the Asia-Pacific region, spotlighting standout projects in China, Korea, and Vietnam. They emphasized ProSlide’s 20+ year legacy in crafting high-performance rides, like the Hive tower at Chime Long and the world’s first launched limb water coaster. Their approach centers on sustainability, ride efficiency, and tailoring experiences to specific markets—highlighted by the rocket blast attraction at Inspire Resort and the family-friendly design in Vietnam. They stressed that understanding demographics and designing to fit the scale of each project are key ingredients for a water park’s success.
