Dracula Land: The Legend Reborn as a Global Entertainment Destination

09:15 AM • By IAAPA Member Partner, Dracula Land

How a €1 Billion Project Founded by Dragos Dobrescu Is Positioning Romania on the Global Map of Immersive and Interactive Entertainment.

Dragos Dobrescu

When planners announced Dracula Land on December 3, 2025, in Bucharest, Romania, the event marked more than the unveiling of an entertainment complex. It introduced a new asset class: a hybrid of theme park, digital platform, and cultural infrastructure designed to turn one of the world’s most powerful myths into a self-sustaining economy of experience.

Developed under the leadership of Dragos Dobrescu, with a projected investment exceeding €1 billion in private capital, Dracula Land aims to position Romania as a strategic hub in Europe’s immersive entertainment and tourism sector.

“Our goal is to bring the world’s most famous legend home and transform it into a real economy of experience, where culture, creativity, and technology generate long-term value,” says Dragos Dobrescu, founder and CEO.

An Ecosystem Designed for Scale and Resilience
Located just 20 minutes from Bucharest and 15 minutes from Henri Coandă International Airport, Dracula Land will extend 160 hectares, integrating a portfolio of complementary assets designed to operate year-round. They include:

  • Dracula Land Theme Park: over 780,000 square meters with six immersive zones and more than 40 major attractions
  • Multifunctional Arena: 22,500 seats for concerts, festivals, and international eSports events
  • Fashion and Home Decor Outlet: 9,000 square meters of retail—with more than 70 brands—a concept developed by Piuarch Milano and The Mall Firenze Team
  • Three Themed Hotels: more than 1,200 rooms and conference facilities
  • Aqua Park and Thermal Spa: 50,000 square meters with more than 30 attractions
  • Race Track: 4.5 km circuit with VIP and media areas
  • Business Accelerator and Tech Hub: 15,000 square meters for startups in gaming, AI, and creative industries

Each vertical adds an independent revenue stream, creating a balanced, multi-seasonal investment model supported by tourism, retail, events, and digital monetization.

Technology as a Growth Multiplier
At the project’s core is a 1:1 interactive metaverse, developed in Unreal Engine 5, mirroring the physical park in real time. Guests and online users will move seamlessly between both realms—purchasing passes, unlocking digital collectibles, and participating in synchronized global events.

A proprietary token, DraculaCoin, underpins cross-platform transactions, loyalty, and asset ownership, building a closed-loop economy that extends engagement long after each visit. Artificial intelligence will personalize every guest journey and provide operators with actionable analytics to optimize performance and profitability.

“Technology for us is not an accessory; it’s an economic engine,” notes Dragos Dobrescu. “It allows scalability, recurring engagement, and diversified revenue.

Cultural IP as Economic Infrastructure
Beyond its entertainment scope, Dracula Land demonstrates how European cultural heritage can be transformed into investable infrastructure with global appeal.

By leveraging Romania’s growing tourism market and its strategic location at the crossroads of central and eastern Europe, the project positions the country as an emerging center for cultural-tech innovation and experience-based development.

Once operational, Dracula Land is projected to attract over three million visitors annually, create thousands of direct and indirect jobs, and generate sustainable regional growth supported by international tourism and year-round events.

“We’re building a living world that grows with its visitors and delivers measurable value to investors, partners, and the region,” concludes Dragos Dobrescu.
