New joint venture between IAAPA and Higginbotham, brings specialized insurance and risk management solutions to attractions industry operators, suppliers, and manufacturers.

ORLANDO, FL (Oct. 20, 2026) – Today, IAAPA announced the launch of IAAPA Insurance Solutions, a new licensed insurance agency established through a joint venture between IAAPA and Higginbotham Insurance Agency. The insurance will provide members with access to insurance and risk management support specifically designed for the attractions industry. IAAPA Insurance Solutions operates in partnership with Higginbotham Insurance Agency, one of the largest independent insurance brokers in the country.

IAAPA Insurance Solutions will make its public debut at IAAPA Expo 2026, November 16–20, in Orlando, at Booth #S2853 in the South Building.

IAAPA’s Board of Directors supported the program in response to an increasingly challenging insurance market, where rates have risen, carriers have pulled back from certain classes of business, and the attractions industry has lacked a unified voice in the insurance marketplace. IAAPA Insurance Solutions will work directly with IAAPA members to identify shared risks and exposures and develop group insurance programs tailored to the unique needs of the attractions industry.

The program is initially launching in North America and is available now to members in the United States, from small family entertainment centers to the largest parks, as well as industry suppliers and manufacturers. IAAPA membership is the only eligibility requirement.

What members and exhibitors can expect:

  • Industry-specific expertise: Insurance specialists who understand attractions operations, with expertise across segments including water parks, FECs, museums, zoos, suppliers and manufacturers.

  • A dedicated point of contact: An IAAPA Insurance Solutions director based at IAAPA headquarters in Orlando who will serve as each member’s first point of contact.

  • Coverage option: Property and casualty insurance, with employee benefits also available.

  • Risk management and safety resources: Resources are being developed with IAAPA’s Safety Institute to further support members.

  • Member-driven insights: A member survey will gather general information about insurance needs across the industry, helping inform conversations with carriers and the continued development of the program.

“IAAPA members have told us for years that the insurance marketplace doesn’t always reflect the realities of operating an attraction,” said Josh Powers, Chief Financial Officer of IAAPA. “IAAPA Insurance Solutions gives us an opportunity to address that challenge with a long-term industry focused approach rather than a short-term solution. Most importantly, the value it created through this program comes back to support our members and the industry we serve.”

“We’re building this long-term resource for our members, not simply an initiative tied to Expo,” said Scott Callison, Director of Member Relations, IAAPA Insurance Solutions. “Expo will give us an opportunity to introduce the program and connect directly with members, but our work continues well beyond the show. We’ll listen to the industry, identify evolving needs and share insights around emerging risk trends to help members better navigate a changing insurance environment.”

Attendees can meet the team at South Building, Booth #S2853. The member survey, program information, and contact details are available at iaapainsurance.com.
