Shanghai, China – 1 July 2025 – IAAPA Expo Asia 2025, the premier trade exhibition in the Asia-Pacific region for the global attractions industry, officially opened its trade show floor doors today in Shanghai. Thousands of professionals from around the world have gathered at the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC) to explore the latest innovations, thought-provoking ideas, and developing trends shaping the future of entertainment and leisure.

The Expo runs from 30 June – 3 July 2025, with the show floor open from 1 – 3 July.

With more than 350 exhibitors filling an expansive trade show floor spanning over 8,600 square meters, IAAPA Expo Asia 2025 provides an unparalleled platform for discovering breakthrough products and solutions. Alongside 20+ education events, this year’s Expo offers attendees rich opportunities to exchange insights and build lasting industry connections.

The opening ceremony set the tone for the week ahead with a mesmerizing theatrical production rooted in Chinese philosophical themes, guiding the audience through an immersive journey of creativity, balance, and transformation. The stage came alive as performers emerged from a symbolic river’s edge, delicately washing silks that soon soared into the air. Suspended high above the stage, the aerial trio echoed the flowing nature of water — their movements effortless, graceful, and poetic.

The ceremony culminated in a breathtaking finale — a vibrant fusion of circus artistry and philosophical storytelling. The stage pulsed with movement, connection, and energy, drawing together the themes of the Expo. As lights danced across the audience and the final notes echoed through the hall, the performance extended an open invitation: to continue the creative journey together.

Jack Chan, executive director and vice president of IAAPA Asia Pacific, shared his enthusiasm for this year’s Expo:

“After six years, we are proud to return to this powerhouse destination and incredible host city. Shanghai is a location where tradition and technology coexist beautifully, and IAAPA Expo Asia 2025 embraces this spirit by bringing together cultural expression, creative storytelling, and world-class innovation. It’s an exciting time for our industry."

In his opening remarks, IAAPA President and CEO Jakob Wahl underscored the importance of global collaboration and forward-thinking leadership:

“IAAPA Expo Asia 2025 showcases the incredible potential of our industry to inspire, connect, and evolve. Shanghai sets the stage for meaningful dialogue and bold transformation. The energy felt here is a reflection of what's possible when the world comes together to share knowledge and innovative ideas. We look forward to seeing all the wonderful relationships forged in the week ahead.”

With a dynamic education program running alongside the trade show — including seminars, sold-out EDUTours, and networking events — IAAPA Expo Asia 2025 is more than a showcase: it is a celebration of shared purpose, vision, and creativity.

As attendees walk the show floor, attend expert-led sessions, and witness the industry’s latest innovations, the energy in Shanghai is unmistakable — a reflection of the attractions industry’s enduring commitment to delight, inspire, and lead.
