US Thrill Rides (Booth #4508) not only unveiled its new thrill ride, Skyblazer, at IAAPA Expo 2021, but also announced the first sale of the striking attraction. Skyblazer is the latest creation of legendary ride and attraction inventor Bill Kitchen. Among his most successful creations is the Skycoaster, which has spread across the globe since its launch in the late 1990s, and the Skyventure skydiving vertical wind tunnel, now called iFly.
Skyblazer takes the Skycoaster to a whole new level, according to Kitchen, who explained on the show floor Thursday how it works.
“With the Skycoaster, only three people could ride at a time, and they had to wear flight suits,” he said. “Now, an entire family, and even multiple families, can all ride together and without suits.”
The Skyblazer loads six to 18 passengers on the ground into a disc-shaped vehicle. Once secured, they ascend in an arc path to a 200-foot drop height. Then, as the vehicle begins to fall and swing, the disc swivels, providing multiple types of thrills.
The first Skyblazer will open in late spring or early summer at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.
