Iliana Rodrigo Cavazos

Iliana Rodríguez Cavazos is a woman passionate about tourism, nature, and Mayan culture, committed to the well-being and development of people.

She holds a bachelor's degree in economics and a master's degree in Corporate Communication and Marketing. She completed the Senior Management Program at IPADE, is a certified business coach, and has complemented her training with diplomas in Leadership, Mayan Culture, and Corporate Social Responsibility.

She resides in Cancún and has been part of Grupo Xcaret for over 30 years. She began her career in Sales during the early years of Xcaret Park and later founded the Public Relations department, where she led the communication strategies for all the parks and tours, as well as the launch of Hotel Xcaret México. She was president of the Mexican Caribbean Public Relations Association and a professor of Senior Management at the master's level at the University of the Caribbean.

In 2015, she led Xcaret’s Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, focusing on sustainable tourism. She has been a member of the Steering Committee of the United Nations Global Compact in Mexico, the Board of Directors of Affiliate Members of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), chairs the Latin-American Sustainability Committee of IAAPA (International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions), and is a member of its Regional Advisory Council.

In recognition of her deep understanding of the organization, as well as her people-centered leadership and love for nature, she was appointed Chief Sustainability Officer for Grupo Xcaret in December 2019. Beginning in November 2023, she also assumed the roles of Director of Corporate Communications and Director of Public Affairs, consolidating as the Chief Sustainability and Institutional Dialogue Officer.

For her extensive experience, she has been invited by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forums to give lectures and workshops on sustainable tourism, sharing models and best practices internationally.
