Description

Have you ever wondered how elected officials make decisions on issues? Where they get their information from? Who they trust? How they decide what issues to work on?

This session will unpack the seemingly complicated process of lobbying. You will learn it isn't that difficult if you thoroughly understand your parks' position, and you take the time to forge relationships.

A panel of theme park government affairs experts will share their real-world experiences advocating for issues that impact our industry. Both large and small parks will be represented, with tips and practical ways you can successfully reach out to the officials who govern your facility.

The goal is to demystify the lobbying process and give you the confidence to meet with elected officials at the local, state and federal level.

Learning Objectives
-Grasp the legislative process
-Lean into the basics of lobbying
-Explore how politics and issues management intersect
