Biography
Sabrina Demayo Lockhart leads the California Attractions and Parks Association (CAPA) as its Executive Director. CAPA members include parks both large and small, from the famous theme parks of Southern California – which attract millions of visitors – to small family-owned businesses found in communities throughout the state. Lockhart has more than two decades of experience within the California Capitol community. She previously served as vice president of communications for the California Independent Petroleum Association. She also held multiple senior staff level positions within the California State Legislature and served as chief deputy press secretary for former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Lockhart began her career as a television reporter and producer covering state government and politics. She was named to the inaugural National Association of Asian Pacifics in Politics and Public Affairs (NAAPPPA) list of top 40 Asian American and Pacific Islander political operatives and public affairs professionals under 40. As a certified yoga teacher, Lockhart serves on the board for Yoga Moves Us, a nonprofit that provides weekly free yoga classes in the greater Sacramento region. She also volunteers on the board of directors for the R.M. Pyles Boys Camp, a free multi-year wilderness camp with yearlong mentoring for at-risk youth. Lockhart also served as vice chair of the city of West Sacramento Planning Commission. Most weekends, you’ll find Sabrina and her husband at a baseball, basketball, or football game cheering on their teenage son.
