Since 1980, the Applause Award has been the ultimate symbol of achievement in the amusement park world. Originally a biennial honor, this prestigious award, bestowed by the esteemed Liseberg theme park in Sweden, became an annual celebration in 2024, recognizing those rare attractions that embody the perfect blend of creativity, innovation, and sound business practices. Considered by many to be the "Academy Award of the industry, the Applause Award honors the parks that inspire us all with their visionary leadership and originality. With 20 outstanding parks already in the winner's circle, the anticipation is building for the next recipient to be announced at IAAPA Honors 2025 at EuropaPark in Rust, Germany.
