West Mifflin, Pennsylvania (IAAPA News) - When Kennywood kicks off their longest season in its 127-year history on April 12, guests will be greeted by the park’s newest festival—the Eggcellent Celebration, its first ever Easter themed festival.
According to Lynsey Winters, communications director for Palace Entertainment, after two successful years of the Eggcellent Celebration at Kennywood’s sister park, Dutch Wonderland in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Palace decided to add the event at Kennywood.
Kennywood’s festival will make itself known from the moment guests reach the front gate, which will greet visitors with giant easter eggs. That’s just the start, as more than 150 eggs will decorate the entire park. The eggs are joined by 75 giant chocolate bunnies, creating numerous photo spots for sharing on social media.
But the Eggcellent Celebration goes well beyond décor. The event will also be a way to introduce guests to the newly themed Kennywood Junction area which will be the home of Tuft, the Kennywood Easter bunny, a newly created character. Tuft will be available during the event for meet and greets and photos in Kennywood Junction’s new celebration space that will include a a winding bunny trail, blooming flowers and Tuft’s house.
