At its press conference Wednesday, Polin Waterparks (Booth #840) reviewed some of its key product developments over the past two years. But first, Sohret Pakis, Polin’s director of marketing and communications, said, “Polin Waterparks, part of the Polin Group, is a 44-year-old company that has grown to have more than 3,500 water park projects in 110 countries.”
The first product the Polin team highlighted was the company’s new StingRay, a four-lane, eight-passenger, high-capacity racing tube slide. Guests enter one of four flume entrances, and these enclosed flumes have multiple interweaving ride paths that transition into two huge bowls before riders race to the end.
Next, Polin reviewed its latest innovation, the world’s first fully transparent composite water slide. Called Glassy, the slide is made from a special high-strength resin that is durable against UV exposure and pool chemicals.
Finally, there’s Time Rider, which Polin said is the world’s largest bowl water slide, providing the choice of four alternate travel paths. The high-capacity, six-rider rafts are designed for big groups who want to ride a 175-meter-long slide with a top speed of 9 meters per second. The slide also features a functional observation walkway that allows guests to watch other people while waiting in line.
