Sea Robotics (Booth #2856) unveiled a new array of customizable Autonomous Water Platforms (AWPs) that are specifically designed for the themed entertainment industry. For years, the company has provided the industry custom engineering, machining, prototyping, and fabrication for roller coasters and other ride systems, and it now has expanded its portfolio to include these specialized AWPs to support water-based attractions.
They can carry out a wide range of functions, from supporting dedicated lighting and laser equipment; to towing scenery, banners, and inflatables; to launching pyrotechnics during a live show or special event. The AWPs are customizable in both size and form, require little maintenance, and can be deployed as permanent or temporary fixtures.
“They’ll proceed to where they’re supposed to be at a certain time automatically,” said Ben Lovelace, vice president of engineering for Sea Robotics. “The don’t have to have a bunch of employees there to operate them—the button can be pushed by one person. They remove the need for human operation.”
