Flying High at Argentina’s Newest Aerial Park
Built within a pine forest that’s more than four decades old, visitors can now soar through more than 200,000 square feet of fun at Argentina’s newest park Aeropolis. The new attraction is one of Mar del Plata’s first aerial parks, creating an atmosphere that allows visitors to fly and breeze through treetops in the southernmost part of the famous resort city near the Atlantic coast.
The construction of the park required a significant investment and long months of work for its installation and commissioning, with technology and safety elements from Switzerland and equipment from France and the United States.
“We have a continuous zip line system that you can safely soar through, and it’s amazing. There are three circuits, with three levels at 16, 32, and 49 feet and 40 very challenging bridges, each with different difficulty levels,” says Carlos Pilaftsidis, one of three leaders involved in the construction of Aeropolis and owner of its sister park Aquopolis.
Aeropolis also has a 12-meter climbing wall with the Trublue system, a magnetic braking system where the guest is the one who manages his or her own climbing and rappelling descent. The aerial park asks visitors to reserve their admission in advance.
New Ferris Wheel Offers Bird’s-Eye View of Brazilian Beaches
Standing at 82 meters tall and 65 meters wide, FG Big Wheel is the newest attraction to open in Balneário Camboriú, a beach town known for its high-rise buildings. After a year and three months of construction, the new observation wheel, one of the largest in Latin America, is open to visitors, offering some of the most beautiful views in Brazil. From the top, the wheel offers panoramic views of the Atlantic forest, the city, and one of the most famous beaches in Brazil. The 36 cabins, with capacity for six people each, are air-conditioned and accessible. They are also equipped with Wi-Fi, along with intercoms and surveillance cameras. The full ride takes approximately at 20 minutes. Passengers remain seated and may enjoy a drink during the experience in the air. FG Big Wheel is available for tours at night, at which time the wheel is lit. It also offers a daily light show. The accompanying two-story tourist complex has a souvenir shop, cafe, ice cream shop, and a photo space so visitors can take home a personalized memento of the tour on the observation wheel.
