In the COVID-19 era, the attractions industry is going through the process of changing habits—especially when it comes to entertainment. These brands understand their role in these interesting times, and have adapted to be more supportive, empathetic, and generous, while communicating trust and transparency through safety and security protocols. In a recent Facebook Live, industry experts discussed the 15 trends that were are emerging from or were enhanced by the current pandemic.
These trends included engagement with entertainment beyond the park. With the increase in cell phone use to consume media, remote leisure activities like social media, live talks, games and mobile entertainment are now the norm. Entertainment at home is also enjoying a surge stands because people are watching TV a whole lot more. In fact, TV ratings have increased by 70%, according to one speaker—one example of how entertainment has been enhanced by the pandemic. And, a new trend emerging from this era is distance leisure—small groups are considered less of a health risk and we will see activities geared toward this size, like tourism packages for much smaller groups.
