Developed in his mom’s kitchen in northern Michigan four years ago, Austin Groesser created Big Dipper edible cookie dough (Booth #3658) as a safer alternative to a popular—but unhealthy—baking habit.
“Everyone loves to eat raw cookie dough, but you’re not supposed to because you can get sick from it,” said the owner/founder, wearing a cookie-covered white suit.
Groesser launched the ready-to-eat product—which comes in chocolate chip, cookies and cream, and cherry chocolate flavors—at a few area grocery stores and built the brand from there. It’s now available at 3,000 locations, and he hopes to crack into the concession space by exhibiting at IAAPA Expo for the first time.
The kid-friendly, single-serving product comes with a spoon inside the cup, making it the perfect sweet snack on a hot day, Groesser said. “It’s not going to melt on you like an ice cream cone.”
