Riders find themselves caught in a battle between DC superhero Cyborg and the evil, sentient cybernetic system GRID at Six Flags New England.
“Innovation is part of the Six Flags DNA, and ‘Cyborg Hyper Drive’ reinforces our commitment to delivering the latest and greatest in thrills and entertainment,” says Park President Pete Carmichael. “Our DC-branded attractions are extremely popular with our guests, and we are excited to add another cutting-edge attraction bearing Cyborg’s name to our epic lineup.”
Chance Rides provided the indoor Freestyle thrill ride.
“The ‘Cyborg’ ride bridges the gap between children’s rides and the really cool rides they wish to be tall enough to enjoy someday. You must be 48 inches tall to ride ‘Cyborg,’ so it successfully incorporates riders of all ages and provides an entirely new experience at the amusement park,” says Jay Aguilar, vice president of sales and marketing at Chance Rides.
A total of 24 “test pilots” are strapped into a top-secret S.T.A.R. Labs prototype when GRID takes over. Soon they are spinning and tilting at speed, as Cyborg fights to regain control. Audiovisual (AV) and lighting effects add intensity. “Six Flags New England is beyond thrilled by the feedback ‘Cyborg Hyper Drive’ is receiving,” says Jennifer McGrath, park communications manager.
