The Officers act on behalf of the global board between meetings, oversee strategic priorities, and ensure alignment with IAAPA’s financial plan. The Finance Committee manages financial oversight, reporting, investments, and audits. The Compensation Committee sets IAAPA’s compensation philosophy and oversees the president and CEO’s employment and performance. The Governance Committee recruits board members, assesses board composition, reviews policies, and handles governance issues.
These global committees advise and implement strategic programs based on the board’s strategic priorities and annual business plans.
A regional advisory board recommends direction, strategies, programs, events, and services for a geographic region. IAAPA currently has four (4) regional advisory boards: Asia Pacific (APAC), Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), Latin America, Caribbean (LAC), and North America (NA). Chairs of the regional advisory boards are selected through the global board of directors election process and serve as members of the global board.
Each regional advisory board will determine the task forces and committees needed to advance the strategic priorities of the region. The task forces and committees will be evaluated annually and adjusted to meet the changing needs of the region. Task forces and committees can be focused on professional disciplines, constituencies, and special projects. Task forces and committees will be composed of members from the corresponding geographic region and/or representatives critical to the success of the region’s events and programs.
Each region will have committees focused on education and safety and security and may have additional task forces and committees to address the needs of the region.
