Brass Ring Award Winners Share Insight
IAAPA’s recognition program honors international innovators.

ITS INFINITE GOLDEN LOOP SYMBOLIZES EXCELLENCE. As one of the most prestigious professional honors awarded to IAAPA members, the Brass Ring Award is bestowed to facilities and operators of distinction. From stunning live entertainment productions to creative culinary, and innovative training to imaginative marketing, IAAPA Brass Ring Award winners are at the top of their field.
Winning an IAAPA Brass Ring Award is just as legendary as its namesake, when riders of 19th century carousels would pull a metal ring from a dispenser—with most acquiring an iron or steel ring—while a lucky few would pull a brass-colored ring.
Several 2025 winners share insight with Funworld on operating with distinction, purpose, and innovation.

LBE of the Year:
Deutschlandmuseum
Berlin
“Quality really makes a difference—and try to innovate. It doesn’t mean you have to prototype anything; it’s about using ingredients and mixing them together differently. You don’t do it for the recognition; you want to create something special, something the guests can connect with emotionally. I would advise that you find that niche, that story, and really try to make things different.”
— Chris Lange, Creative Studio Berlin

Best New F&B Special Event/Festival: Cherry Jubilee
Gilroy Gardens, Gilroy, California
“We’re getting feedback—not only from our guests—but our team members. We take that feedback constructively; use a lot of trial and error; and we’re very ‘fruitful’ in our budget. There are times when we need to supplement certain ingredients just to keep that cost effectiveness. A lot of times, we depend on the full-time managers from a labor perspective when it’s all hands-on deck. Therefore, the Brass Ring is rewarding for everyone.”
— Sandy Le, Gilroy Gardens

Most Creative Social Media Marketing Campaign:
Baby Capybara Yoga
Jungle Island, Miami
“Go beyond the regular metrics. The heart and the core of the new ideas that we try in the attractions world are so subjective and so unique to demographics, to context, to where you are located. Create a fun presentation [for the Brass Ring Award judges]. Show all the wonderful things that your team has done—and just send the application away!”
— Rebeca Morgado, Jungle Island
