Information about Martyn’s Law

Officially the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, Martyn’s Law is a new UK law that requires publicly accessible venues and events to improve their preparedness and security against terrorist attacks. The law establishes a tiered system of requirements based on venue capacity. As a security professional, Martyn’s Law provides an excellent framework for implementing security measures, training staff, and developing incident response plans. Utilizing the law’s framework provides for a more consistent and comprehensive approach to security for protecting lives in public spaces from terrorism. For more information about Martyn’s Law, see the ProtectUK police leaflet and the UK Government website for law factsheets.
