Valerie Syrowicz

Short biography

Valerie is the Head of the Conservation Education department at La Aurora Zoo in Guatemala City since 2014 and supervises the ecuation and research programs for the AGHN Marine Conservation Center since 2018. She has more than 15 years of professional experience primarily in social development programs in both provite and public sectors. She has a special interest in providing access to queality education, prompting behavior change and measuring results.  She is part of the Latin American Zoo and Aquarium Association´s-ALPZA education committee since 2018 and the current Latin American Representative for the International Zoo and Aquarium Educator´s Association-IZE. She received her B.A. in Foreign Affairs from the Universit of Virginia and has a Professional Certification in Project Management from the Inter-American Development Bank.
