Short biography
Robert Cornog, Jr.’s career has traversed Wall Street, with roles as an investment banker at Merrill Lynch and a lawyer at Shearman & Sterling, to executive positions at growth companies. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to Punch Bowl Social (PBS), where he co-founded the pioneering eatertainment concept, opening its first location in 2012. He guided PBS through rapid, award-winning growth, culminating in a 2019 recapitalization by Cracker Barrel. In 2020, Cornog partnered with a family office to acquire Wagamama’s U.S. business and later led the purchase of PBS via bankruptcy. As Chairman & CEO of both companies, he now focuses exclusively on PBS and its multi-brand strategy. Cornog earned his BA in economics and JD from Northwestern University and attended the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business.
