Mike Frueh

Biography

Mike Frueh is the head of SimEx-Iwerks Licensing & Distribution division with over 25 years in the industry. He is responsible for the development of over 50 attraction films working with popular properties and franchises, including The Simpsons, Ice Age, Angry Birds, and BBC Earth. Mike has developed custom film projects such as SpongeBob SquarePants 4D, Dora & Diego's 4D Adventure, and Mowgli's 4D Jungle Adventure. In 2020, Mike created a library of custom flying theater films to support SimEx-Iwerks’ FlyRide® as well as flying theaters around the world. Mike and his team distribute films to over 150 venues worldwide. In 2023, Mike led the effort to develop the SimEx-Iwerks Ultra-Accessible® 4D Immersive Theater at Morgan’s Wonderland. This project sparked a passion to develop a similar product to create new opportunities for people of all abilities to have the same thrilling experience. This enthusiasm led to SimEx-Iwerks developing an Accessible Theater experience for any entertainment venue.
