Short biography
Chef Charles Walker began his culinary journey at the age of 14 when he was quickly immersed into the culture of several Chicago- based restaurants.  His passion for culinary arts grew quickly as he navigated his way through different positions while studying local industry concepts. This culinary passion and love for the hospitality field led him to Purdue University, where he continued to gain industry experience, and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Restaurant, Hotel, Tourism and Hospitality Information Technology.  While studying at Purdue, Charles was awarded the National Restaurant Associations’ prestigious ‘Salute to Excellence Award’ honoring the top 1% of all hospitality students.   Prior to his employment with Levy Restaurants, Charles held positions as Executive Chef and Director of Operations with a myriad of industry leaders over his 37 year career. After joining Levy Restaurants in 2010, Charles consistently demonstrated strong leadership skills and dedication that earned the respect of several culinary teams he managed.  His years of dedication and support of events such as USTA, Wells Fargo Golf Championship and NBA Finals in Dallas and Miami, were key to the success of these events.  At The Georgia World Congress Center, Charles was an integral part in the execution of several large events such as Microsoft, McDonalds, Toyota, and A.K.A.  Charles then became the Executive Chef for the Georgia Dome and has successfully led his team through many high profile events including the Final 4 Championships, SEC Championships, NFC Playoffs, International Soccer games and numerous Collegiate Bowl Football games culminating in the opening of the Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta.  Although he orchestrated and implemented several innovative culinary programs throughout the operation, Charles continued to strive for the highest level of culinary excellence in every aspect of the business. In 2018 Charles accepted a position with Cedar Fair Entertainment Corporation.  Cedar Fair owns and operates 11 major theme parks in the United States and Canada serving over 25 million guests annually.  Charles continually drives his team of Regional Chefs along with 13 Executive Chefs to operate innovative, safe and fiscally responsible businesses. In addition to his Culinary career Charles is the father of 21 year old twins and is actively involved in the community with various food banks, volunteer programs and the ACF.
