“In the first quarter of 2020, we’ll be opening up three new family coasters in North America, Vietnam, and the Middle East,” said Matt Rehnstrom, vice president of sales, at Extreme Engineering’s press conference during IAAPA Expo. “All three locations are world-class parks, and each project will have something new, never seen on our Cloud Coasters.”
Here’s what ahead for Extreme Engineering in the first quarter of 2020:
- Vietnam: The dragon-themed ride vehicle displayed (Booth #3266) is part of Extreme Engineering’s first outward roller coaster and located in Vietnam. “The theming was done tastefully and purposely with a minimalistic approach,” and a nod to Vietnamese folklore, Rehnstrom said. “Our design team created a Cloud Coaster layout to give people the sensation of riding a dragon with big swooping turns and a thrilling experience with sudden drops.”
- Middle East: Extreme Engineering will be installing its largest indoor roller coaster to date in a luxury living space that combines amusement, living, and mixed-use retail space. The coaster will be suspended from the ceiling, soaring over 80 feet as it goes all the way down to the main corridors. “This will launch guests into tubey turns and sensations of close calls … with quick drops and moments of acceleration,” said Rehnstrom.
- Canada: What happens when you incorporate a famous photojournalism brand with outdoor adventure and turn it into a roller coaster? “The brand allowed our team to create a very interactive track, as well as a one-of-a-kind seat that makes riders feel as though they are floating through a canopy of trees,” Rehnstrom hinted. “The look and feel of this dark coaster transforms these guests into thrillseekers.”
