The owner and staff of Fun Spot America were brimming with contagious excitement as they officially announced the company’s brand-new “Arieforce One” roller coaster that will open at Fun Spot Atlanta in 2022. John Arie Jr., owner and CEO of Fun Spot America, said the $13 million steel coaster is the largest investment in the history of the company.
“It’s a custom design with unique and exclusive turns and thrills,” Arie said, “and it has lots of airtime.”
Arie revealed the ride was named in recognition of his father, John Arie Sr., founder of Fun Spot America.
The coaster is designed and built by Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC) and features the company’s patented and highly regarded Ibox steel track. The ride—to be painted red, white, and blue in honor of the United States—features the very first Raven Truss Dive, the largest zero-G stall, and the first-of-its-kind zero-G roll in America.
The ride will be 3,400 feet long, 154 feet high, and reach a speed of 64 mph. The minimum required rider height is 48 inches. Fred Grubb, founder of RMC, said the ride’s two trains will feature the same restraints the company has been using on its other coasters “because of its aggressiveness.”
