Altitude Rides and Attractions (Booth #5110) highlighted its brand-new ride Hammered at a press conference Thursday. It’s a creatively ingenious evolution of the popular drop tower ride concept, as Hammered interactively merges with the legendary High Striker attraction found at amusement parks and carnivals everywhere.
Hammered has a standard height of 30 feet and features a two-seat or six-seat vehicle. But that’s where the similarities end with traditional drop towers. “Who’s ever heard of a tower ride that offers 10 different rider-chosen modes?” asked Logan Checketts, owner of Altitude Rides. It allows riders to choose modes ranging from a kid-friendly Half Bounce to an intense and invigorating Chaos. Half Bounce is a gentle ride, whereas Chaos and the other more aggressive modes are crazily active.
Plus, there’s the option for onlookers to swing a high-striker hammer at a target and send the ride soaring up to the appropriate height on the scale. Fun sound effects round out the package on the magnetically braked ride.
“We’ve had some people ride 30 or 40 times already,” said an excited Checketts, “and we’ve already sold several this week at the show.”
