At an IAAPA Expo press conference on Tuesday morning, Phil Wilson, vice president of Extreme Engineering, announced four new attractions.
The first ride to be announced was the Cloud Coaster Storm. The family coaster is on a side-by-side new coaster track called Poseidon, can achieve speeds of up to 20 mph, allows up to 500 riders per hour, and was designed to be sustainable. Two of these projects will be opening at two separate major theme parks in 2022 and 2023.
The second product was Surfin Tsunami, the world’s only standup, surfboard roller coaster. The coaster simulates the feeling of riding a wave, with speeds of 10-15 mph, and allows for guests as small as 45 pounds. It will open in early 2022.
The third ride, Sky Tag, is, quite literally, laser tag in the sky. On the side-by-side coaster track, guests have phaser guns to battle one another while suspended in mid-air. It’s a low-cost attraction, priced to be affordable for smaller attractions like family entertainment centers.
Lastly, Parkour Around is a free-running attraction that was 10 years in the making and is meant to simulate the extreme sport of parkour in a way that makes it accessible for all. Guests will be given an “adventure video game” experience as they move through an obstacle course while within the parkour assist system, allowing them to jump great heights and long distances.
Visual examples of some of these new ride vehicles are on display at Booth #4800.
