 The IAAPA Institute for Attractions Professionals is the global attractions industry’s premier professional development program for individuals with five or fewer years’ working within attractions. These include museums, science centers, aquariums, theme and amusement parks, LBEs, and zoos. 

The IAAPA Institute for Attractions Professionals (IAP) combines sessions, case study team work, and a facility tour.  

During the program, participants will: 

  • Identify industry trends. 

  • Identify challenges and opportunities for different entertainment show types. 

  • Explore best practices to predict, meet, and exceed guests’ expectations. 

  • Conduct a risk assessment for your facility and proactively prevent hazards. 

  • Interpret food and beverage metrics and data. 

  • And more! 

Participants should be highly motivated learners with an interest in cross-departmental industry functions. Participants will gain a global attractions perspective, learn more about all areas of operation, and will share best practices across member types. The intensive three days in-person program is designed with a blend of classroom instruction led by industry experts and small group activities. Participants will gain a solid understanding of the key disciplines and processes required to manage a successful attraction.

Carla joined the Interparques group in April 2013 and took over as general director of Roda Rico in February 2024, with the aim of making Roda Rico one of the biggest icons in the City of São Paulo. Enthusiastic about sustainable practices, circular economy, among other initiatives, she worked on the ESG, Privacy and Risk and Diversity & Inclusion committees.

Rafael started his career in the amusement industry in 2002 as Food & beverage attendant working at Hopi Hari. He has Bachelor's Degree in Business administration and, is always focused on safety and professional development, has several certifications, among them, IAAPA Certified Attractions Executive, Disney Approach series by Disney Institute, and  Autism Certificate by IBCCES.

He participated as a presenter in several IAAPA webinars and was part of IAAPA’s Food and Beverage Committee.

In this session you will learn about gaming operations in the industry and identify strategies for managing an arcade attraction while applying best practices to your current arcade attraction operation. Also learn strategies for managing a merchandise location, review the costs and scheduling of games and merchandise.
