We are committed to fostering an environment that embraces diversity, accessibility for all persons, and supports diverse families. This event aims to provide valuable insights and strategies that enhance the inclusivity and accessibility of parks and attractions in the region.
The IDEA Forum is an online event where professionals from the parks and attractions industry and topic experts will gather to discuss and learn about inclusive practices. Sessions will cover a wide range of topics, including:
- Accessibility for deaf persons: Innovations and best practices to ensure parks are accessible and enjoyable for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Supporting diverse families: Understanding and meeting the needs of families from diverse backgrounds and compositions.
- IDEA insights: Insights into Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility initiatives that can be implemented in parks and attractions.

This IDEA forum is free for IAAPA Members, but registration is required.
Speakers
Esmeralda Araiza
Esmeralda is a speaker, trainer and IDEA expert, with more than 15 years of international experience accompanying dozens of companies in the implementation of corporate social responsibility and IDEA strategies. Part of her training includes certifications in Diversity and Inclusion from Stanford University, in Accessible Tourism from Bircham International University, and in Inclusive Event Design from MPI.
Esmeralda is the first Mexican woman recognized as one of the “100 Leaders in Corporate Social Responsibility with the Greatest Impact” and as a “Transformative Woman Leader”. She is leader of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee at the Australian and Mexican Chamber of Commerce and is the creator of the Inclusive Leadership Model “Authentic Leaders for All” and founder of the “Inclusive Tourism” program; He directs the consultancy DT Latina.
José Tomás Célèry
José Tomás has more than 11 years of experience as a human resources professional, leading the subsystems of organizational development, training, compensation, recruitment and selection of personnel and remuneration, to mention the main ones. His interest and development also focus on the formation and consolidation of work teams, a detailed approach to the implementation of ERP management systems and accompanying leaders in their development and their teams.
José Tomás training includes the title of Organizational Psychologist from the Adolfo Ibáñez University and a diploma in Business Management. He is married and father of three children with whom he shares his love of sports, reading and cooking as an amateur.
María Antonieta Ocampo
Graphic Designer from the Universidad Anáhuac del Sur, she has an MBA from the Pan-American Institute of Senior Business Management IPADE. She is a specialist in training and consulting on issues of diversity and inclusion, well-being and mindfulness. She has various certifications and courses in Human Resources such as Change Management, Competing with Integrity, Development of Others, Emotional Intelligence and Surprising Service. She was in charge of launching a program for the inclusion of People with Disabilities, and received the “Gold Medal” recognition awarded by Brandon Hall Awards 2016 for best training practices. For some years now, she has participated in various forums that promote workplace diversity and inclusion.
Mariana Ruiz
Mariana is in charge of the design and execution of the human resources strategy for the different units of Grupo Xcaret, such as Parks, Hotels, Shipping Company and Bus Line, building a single culture and identity, implementing the entire talent management cycle. Prior to this, she held several positions at Cinépolis, from deputy director of training, HR business partner, deputy director of International HR (responsible for 12 countries in Asia, Europe and America), to HR director at Cinépolis Spain for 4 years. He also collaborated with the Nestlé Group in different positions, the last being Senior Manager of Training and Development.
Mariana has a Master's Degree in Strategic Management of Human Capital from La Salle University and a Master's Degree in Senior Management from IESE, University of Navarra, Spain. In addition to giving numerous conferences and teaching at the undergraduate and master's level, on human resource management issues, she currently participates as a volunteer in the Education Committee of IAAPA Latin America and the Caribbean.
Rodrigo Quintana
Rodrigo Quintana, originally from Mexico City, is an architect by profession, graduate of the Tecnológico de Monterrey with an international background that includes studies at the University of Sydney, Australia, and Harvard, United States.
Since 2019, he has held the position of Corporate Director of Innovation at Grupo Xcaret, Xurreal, where he leads a team of young professionals dedicated to developing specialized innovation projects focused on experiential design. Additionally, he is a founding member of Grupo Xcaret's IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility) Committee, Rodrigo and his team work to promote a culture of innovation towards inclusion at an institutional level, with the purpose of identifying and developing new ideas, concepts and solutions that improve the experience of both visitors and Xcaret collaborators.
