IAAPA Expo Europe is where news is made. On Tuesday, the opening day of the show, several manufacturers and suppliers announced advancements at Expo in a series of press conferences. Here are the latest highlights:
WhiteWater
WhiteWater (booth 728) covered many bases, laying out their sustainability plans, latest product offerings, and updates to their Vantage division.
Highlighting the record temperatures seen in Europe this past summer, Whitewater Chief Marketing Officer Una de Boer opened with a discussion of the company’s sustainability aims. From a reduction of emissions created during fiber glass production, to the conservation of water and energy used during operation, de Boer says WhiteWater is actively looking at reducing impact on the environment and client costs.
Anticipating a global increase in the appetite for surfing, WhiteWater presented their latest surf product: The FlowCurl. Designed to bridge the gap between their FlowRider and FlowBarrel series, The FlowCurl provides operators with a surf experience for all skills levels, featuring both a straight and barrel wave in one product.
Vantage
WhiteWater division, Vantage (booth 732), also announced the launch of their new brand campaign: Joy Economy.
“Joy is the quintessential element that has formed our industry” says Michael Jungen, president of Vantage.
Vantage provides parks with a personalized guest experience and engagement capabilities. Through employing the Joy Economy model, the division hopes to help operators improve guest experience, staff retention, and revenue through the potential of joy. Vantage has launched a special website at joyeconomy.com
Triotech
Triotech (booth 1317) announced their participation in an upcoming Puy du Fou project in Shanghai, which represents the operators first expansion into the Asian market. As part of the new venture, Triotech says they will create seven “dynamic platforms.” Through the use of special effects and media, visitors will be able to experience a simulation of a life-size train and other transportation vehicles in the historic setting of 1930s Shanghai.
“Puy du Fou is clearly a leader in their segment. They have a unique offering and are quite simply, unparalleled at what they do. We are excited to be working with this world-class organization,” says Ernest Yale, president and CEO of Triotech.
The new location is set to open at the beginning of 2023.
Dronisos
The drone show specialist Dronisos (booth 4020) announced they will be resuming operations in the United Kingdom as part of an effort to expand its global reach. The French-based company will be opening a permanent office in the U.K., marking a return to where they launched their first drone show on the television show Britain’s Got Talent in 2016.
“We can’t wait to bring our magic to the U.K.! We’re looking forward to creating more stories in the sky,” says Fabrice NKOM, head of sales for Dronisos
This past season, Dronisos operated daily drone shows at Dollywood, Puy du Fou parks, and is an official technology partner of Disneyland Paris, where their use in the 30th anniversary Disney dLite show drew widespread acclaim.
AromaPrime
Smell specialist Liam Findlay at AromaPrime (booth 2613) presented the company’s latest developments in attraction scents.
In 2023, AromaPrime will celebrate its 50th anniversary with the release of six new scents, adding to their catalogue of more than 400 aromas:
- Superhero City: A scent of fire and melting metal.
- Pumpkin Spice: Designed to entice visitors into shops.
- Fruity Ice Lollies: A smell developed with water park clients in mind.
- Breakfast Pastries: A scent reminiscent of cherry Bakewell’s.
- Dodo: An attempt at recreating an extinct smell.
- Blocked Urinal: A twist on AromaPrime’s infamous urine scent, but with an added chemical layer.
Press conference participants got a chance to smell some of these scents via AromaPrime’s updated AromaBlock, a new sustainable option for clients that eliminates plastic packaging. Liam Findlay also spoke of plans to create a smell time capsule as part of the company’s 50th anniversary celebration to be opened when AromaPrime turns 100.
AromaPrime invites attendees at IAAPA Expo Europe to stop by booth 2613 to smell the aromas for themselves.
