Wilderness Resorts and Waterparks Embarks on Major Additions
With completion set for late fall 2022, Wilderness Resorts and Waterparks in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, is undertaking a major renovation of its indoor Wild West Waterpark that will bring guests two new water slides, a new Wild West-themed multilevel play and spray structure, and numerous other improvements. One of the new slides will be a two-lane dueling tube ride, while the other will be a two-lane mat racer.
Both slides will feature striking translucent slide effects, as well as multiple “rally points” where riders will be able to see their competition as they race down the slides. All three new attractions are being supplied by ProSlide.
The resort is also opening a new escape room, “Mission: Mars,” at nearby Wilderness on the Lake this summer. It will take guests on a journey to Mars to repair the 2004 NASA rover Opportunity, as well as retrieve its memory box.
Participants have 30 minutes to complete the challenge before a solar storm arrives. Additionally, the resort is planning renovations for all 446 guest rooms at its Wilderness Hotel, including new carpet, flooring, paint, countertops, furniture, artworks, and TVs. Renovations are to be completed in late 2022.
Running Through Rainbows for Fun
As events continue to return, OWA Parks & Resort in Foley, Alabama, held its third annual “Rainbow Run” for the zany fun of it. Almost 1,000 guests, ages 3 and older, flocked together at the end of April for a 1.5-mile run that’s surely like no other dash they’ll do all year. In the early morning, they took off into bright clouds of rainbow-colored powder as they ran, walked, or skipped through OWA park, where they encountered more rainbow color stations that showered them with even more vivid powder.
Many runners chose to accessorize with bandanas and sunglasses to cover their eyes and airways. When guests crossed the finish line on OWA Is-land, an after-party celebration awaited them. Participants wore “Rainbow Run” T-shirts to be covered in all of the flying colors during the race.
