New Member Spotlight | Themics Philippines Inc.
Themics Philippines Inc. is a multifaceted company that creates themed architecture for attractions and leisure companies around the world. The private construction company works with durable, sustainable materials, such as fiberglass, resin, and rubber to develop and build theming items and architecture for museums, theme parks, hotels, and other attractions and leisure businesses. Among its products are customized intellectual property (IP) pieces, concepts, themed attractions, and animatronics.
“Our global position is secured by having offices and production sites in the Philippines, on the one hand; it guarantees Themics Philippines Inc. a strong point of departure to aim at projects from companies based in Asia,” says Carlo Görtjes, CEO of Themics Philippines Inc. “On the other hand, we also have our location in the Netherlands, Themics Europe B.V., which focuses on the European and American market. The combination of both is what gives us a pool of worldwide opportunities.”
The team at Themics Philippines Inc. consists of designers, artists, sculptors, painters, and engineers. Since its products and services range from concept design, digital arts, and lighting to programming, mechanics, and electrics, it has a wide variety of knowledge and skills represented amongst its team members.
“Although we are a new company, our team is put together from highly experienced people, who have practiced and trained their talents for over 40 years,” says Han Kuijpers, business development manager at Themics Philippines Inc.
Recently, Themics Philippines Inc. completed a project for Babyland-Amiland, together with Petro Art Production. The team was tasked with sculpting Babyland-Amiland’s IP figure, Winno.
The company also made moves to join IAAPA, with Görtjes stating that the trainings and online learning opportunities offered by membership are beneficial in helping the company to grow within the industry.
“What’s most important for us as a young company are the regular events, such as IAAPA Expo Europe in Barcelona and the Expo in Orlando,” Görtjes explains. “We visited for the first time last year, and our expectations for both were exceeded. The networking and great encounters we had—and are looking forward to for the future—at these events are irreplaceable and proved to us that we made the right decision by joining. We instantly felt welcome and belonging in the family-like community that IAAPA has created for its members.”
For future projects, Themics Philippines Inc. is working to spread the word that a new turnkey supplier has entered the market and is determined to stay. Its goal is to become a go-to company for high-quality theming, animatronics, and lighting.
“We want to support theme parks and other leisure facilities in creating immersive environments that frame the groundwork of memorable expe-riences for their guests,” Kuijpers says. “It is our mission to bring life and excitement to our clients’ projects and to go above and beyond to make their dreams come true, while prioritizing quality, safety, and affordability.”
