Art Made from Recycled Tires Becomes a Hit in Peru
An eco-park in Peru continues to draw attention as a social media sensation for its giant sculptures made with recycled material. The unique recreational park is located in the Cusco province of Canchis, in the southern highlands of Peru.
The sculptures, measuring up to 4 meters high and 3 meters wide, represent characters from the Andean culture, among them a lion, a condor, an Inca, and a llama. The recycled tires come from cars, motorcycles, bicycles, and others collected from highways in Cusco.
The initiative is promoted by the District Municipality of Checacupe to attract local, national, and international tourism to the region—an already popular spot for tourists on their way to see Machu Picchu, one of the new seven wonders of the world.
New Indoor Thermal Water Park Makes a Splash in Brazil
Guests can now trade their ice skates for flip-flops as things heat up at Acquamotion Park in Gramado, Brazil.
From the creators of Snowland, the Brazilian indoor snow park, Gramado Parks raised the temperature with the opening of Acquamotion, one of South America’s first indoor thermal water parks.
Acquamotion is inspired by the beauty of Serra Gaúcha, a mountainous region in southern Brazil. The park is divided into four themed areas—autumn, spring, summer, and winter—and features seven pools for adults and children, including one with waves and another outdoor infinity pool on the roof.
