First Look: Strolling and Soaring Above Ferrari World
Guests of Ferrari World Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates are accustomed to the park rolling out unique and thrilling attractions, like “Formula Rossa,” one of the world’s fastest roller coasters, reaching speeds of almost 150 mph. With a roadmap for adrenaline, the park debuted two aerial adventures that are unlike anything in its garage of more than 43 attractions: a tantalizing walk atop the fabled red roof of the indoor theme park and a dual zip line allowing riders to race through the enormous loop of the park’s “Flying Aces” coaster.
The “Ferrari World Abu Dhabi Roof Walk” features a 600-meter guided jaunt along the park’s famous red roof, offering an elevated view of Yas Island. The experience takes about 90 minutes to complete, with guests making a reservation to participate that fits their schedule.
“Our guests are fitted with a full body harness, which is then attached to a safety line that’s been designed specifically for the experience, providing guests with support to help them safely make their way to the other side,” says General Manager Bianca Sammut. “As part of the awe-inspiring adventure, our instructors will guide our guests every step of the way until they reach the other end.”
Sammut tells Funworld that the “Ferrari World Abu Dhabi Zip Line” is a first-of-its-kind attraction on Yas Island. “Part of this thrilling experience is the dual racing challenge, wherein guests can zip across side by side at the same time. Those with a little more competitive spirit can strap in and race each other, making the experience that much more exciting for everyone!” she says.
Both attractions debuted Nov. 5, 2020, just a day after the 10th anniversary of the park’s opening. Each new attraction operates with social distancing measures in place. The roof walk accommodates up to six guests at a time to allow for social distancing, while the two zip lines enjoy more than 6 feet of spacing by design.
Both experiences can be purchased together as part of a combo pack or separately. The roof walk carries a rate of AED 195 per person, and the zip line is AED 95 per person.
