Kings Island in Mason, Ohio, opened for the season in early July, after remaining closed this spring out of an abundance of caution in wake of the coronavirus. The park has implemented dozens of changes that promote safe operating practices this summer. From entry screenings and the removal of park maps to ride operation pivots and changes in midway games, there are scores of key learnings available. IAAPA News sits down with Kings Island Vice President and General Manager Mike Koontz as he showcases the best practices at work inside the theme park, including the need to wear face coverings and ensuring employees are safe.
