5 Tips for Dealing with COVID-19 from Attractions

On March 25, IAAPA led a discussion on Twitter about how the attractions industry is dealing with the latest development of COVID-19. Here are a few key takeaways of the chat.

  1. Find new ways to adapt standard practices to provide more insight in the current environment.
    hile the majority of our clients were still open but operating cautiously, we asked our mystery shoppers to pay close attention to how the attractions they were visiting were not only amping up their cleanliness, but how these practices were being communicated.- Tweet from Joshua Liebman
  2. Reconsider workflows and processes to protect staff.
    We are still busy manufacturing our next rides & have put in place some new procedure to ensure the safety of our staff during this time. We’ve moved manufacturing to 3 shifts with time in between each to make sure everyone comes into a safe and clean environment says Dynamic Attractions
  3. Facebook Live is a great way to remind guests of the on-site experience.
    We have nine webcams with live streams throughout the day for people to enjoy from wherever they are.
  4. ...And use your "in-house" celebrities too!
    FB Lives inside our Urban Air Parks. Cooking tips and recipes for kids from Chef Jax. Virtual scavenger hunts inside our Parks with guests. Inspiring ways via social to keep things fun for families at home during this Pandemic Parenting stage. Tweet from Carolyn McLean
  5. Most important of all, look for the positives.
