The Chester Zoo in the United Kingdom opened a lavish new wedding destination. The zoo spent the last three years transforming a historically protected stable block into The Square, a multimillion-pound wedding and events venue in a wonderfully wild setting.
Wedding and corporate guests can expect a warm welcome in the beautifully refurbished venue, once home to some of the zoo’s first animals, including lions, bears, and chimpanzees. The property is highly Instagrammable, with a turreted entrance, vaulted oak ceilings, a handsome courtyard, and newly created gardens. The main event room accommodates 200 guests, with the entire venue able to host up to 380 people.
Event hosts and visitors will get a warm feeling from knowing they are supporting Chester Zoo’s conservation efforts. “Every occasion that takes place at The Square will contribute to our charitable mission to prevent extinction, helping us secure a brighter future for wildlife worldwide,” zoo CEO Jamie Christon says. “That’s what makes our new venue incredibly special, and we can’t wait to start welcoming people to it.”
