Science fiction and art deco are the order of the day at Studio City Water Park’s new 10,000 square meter indoor facility in Macau. The water park is part of a $1.3 billion expansion that also includes two hotels, a cinema, high-end restaurants, and exhibition facilities. The indoor space complements an existing outdoor water park.
Studio City’s expansion features 16 new slides, including the 300-meter Lightspeed Shuttle, which provides a continuous loop by carrying guests in inner tubes up a conveyor belt, where they can stay on board for multiple rounds. This next-generation WhiteWater Master Blaster has larger windows along the path to provide guests with views of the park.
Indoor rides and pools—with names like Command Center, Teleport Tower, and Black Hole Slingshot—feature custom metallic finishes to reflect Studio City’s aesthetics. Rubber foam mats to reduce slips and falls have been customized by Life Floor to complement the park’s look and feel as well.
