IAAPA Safety Institute - Singapore
Safety is the global attractions industry’s top priority: safety for guests, safety for employees, and the safe operation of facilities and equipment. The IAAPA Safety Institute provides an opportunity for attractions operators and owners to examine these processes and learn best practices in ride standards, loss prevention, risk management, ride design, and safety compliance. Attendees will learn from insightful presentations by attractions safety experts, industry consultants, manufacturers, and operators from all facets of the industry.
This course is an introductory-level program that provides a broad range of safety concepts and practices. It is recommended for professionals new to the industry, seeking a basic understanding of safety protocol, tools and regulations, and interest in cross-department development. Participants will earn 4 credit hours toward IAAPA certification.

Speakers
JOSE “BLUE” REYNA III, ICAE
BLUE REYNA joined Enchanted Kingdom in 2010 to oversee its Rides & Attractions Department.
The following year he was tapped to head the Park Operations Division of this first and only world-class theme park in the Philippines that opened in 1995.
In January 2018, he relinquished his role as Division Head of Park Operations to lead the newly created Safety & Risk Management Division of Enchanted Kingdom.
Responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for the facility’s over 800 cast members and close to 2 million guests a year, his division oversaw threat assessment, risk management, security, health, first aid and emergency preparedness.
An International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) Certified Attractions Executive, Blue possesses National Association of Amusement Ride Safety Officials (NAARSO) certification in Operations as well as Amusement Ride Inspection, and similarly has Amusement Industry Manufacturers and Suppliers (AIMS) International accreditation as Operations Technician and Associate Ride Inspector.
He served for several years in the IAAPA Asia Pacific Safety Sub-Committee and has given talks at IAAPA Safety Institutes and as faculty at IAAPA Institute for Attraction Managers, sharing industry best practices in operations, maintenance, safety and risk management.
His educational background indicates a scholarship at the Philippine Science High School, then tertiary education at the University of the Philippines, University of the East in Manila and the University of Hawaii in Manoa.
Jason Todd
Jason Todd’s career in the leisure and entertainment industry began over 30 years ago in operations and since then, Jason’s experience includes all aspects of entertainment facility management from project start up to turnkey operations across Australia, Asia and China markets.
Jason has transferred his skills in the theme park industry to create world-class experiences in the wider field of Tourism, Sports and Entertainment. He has worked on projects that include the Sydney Olympic Games, Heritage-listed attractions, Entertainment venues for International touring artists and The Australian Open tennis tournament as well as tourism start-up businesses.
Since 2010, Jason focused on markets including India, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and China. As well as operations specialisation, Jason's experience includes sales management and marketing, project development and construction management. He has a proven track record of building and leading teams of local professionals who best understand the local market conditions.
Jason led Village Roadshow Theme Parks’ consulting and project delivery teams in Southern China for five years before establishing his own Consulting firm. As a professional Project Director and General Manager, his portfolio includes large-scale hybrid theme parks, water parks, hi-tech indoor entertainment, specialty attractions and product development.
Shaun McKeogh, ICAE
Shaun’s experience in the Themed Visitor Attractions, Culture, Leisure & Entertainment Industry around the globe has enabled him to gain a wealth of industry knowledge, connections and strategies for building strong workplace cultures that support high employee engagement; impacting job performance, quality service excellence delivery, sales, safety and productivity. His expertise and passion is directed at organisational development, employee engagement, service excellence systems, attractions training and operations.
Shaun is past Chair of the IAAPA Human Resources Committee and IAAPA Asia Pacific Education Committee. He is currently chairing the IAAPA Asia Pacific Diversity and Inclusion Taskforce and member of the IAAPA Asia Pacific Advisory. He is featured as a regular international speaker for the IAAPA Expo’s, and has been a long-term faculty member delivering the IAAPA Institute for Attraction Managers throughout Asia Pacific.
Shaun managed the Culture & People Development at Australia’s Premier Theme Parks, including Warner Bros. Movie World, Sea World Theme Park & Resort Hotel, Wet ‘N’ Wild Water World, Australian Outback Spectacular & Paradise Country. Beginning his visitor attraction career with extensive frontline experience in rides & attractions and park operations, he has served in many senior leadership roles throughout his exciting career. Shaun is excited about a new visitor attraction initiative to deliver organizational development support and training solutions through the ProFun Academy where he has been recently appointed as Chief Training Officer (CTO) for the ProFun Academy.
Shaun will be a facilitator and moderator of IAM.
Zishan Amir
Zishan leads of the commercial and operations team at Mega Adventure Singapore and has been with the company since 2016.He provides the overall vision and strategic direction for the business,and is responsible for driving business growth strategies while maintaining the overall financial stability and profitability of the company.
During his time at Mega Adventure,Zishan has exponentially increased the profitability of the Singapore business and is responsible for leading his team to its best ever performance in terms of visitor numbers, customer experience ratings on Trip Advisorby way of achieving the 2019 Traveller’s Choice Award for Top Experience in Singapore,and safety audit results.
Qualified as an Aeronautical Engineer and Fixed Wing Pilot, Zishan is also the BCA Appointed Ride Manager for the business and he works closely with government agencies such as the Sentosa Development Corporation(SDC)and the Singapore Tourism Board(STB)to promote Singapore as tourist destination.
He is currently an EXCO member of the Association of Singapore Attractions (ASA)and Chairs its Safety Sub-Committee.At the international level, he sits on the Global Education and Membership Task Force Committee of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions(IAAPA)where he has been invited to speak on a wide range of topics relating to Customer Experience, Data Analytics and Safety in the Attractions Industry. Zishan is also leading an industry wide effort in Singapore with other attractions to benchmark attraction performance and the sharing of visitor demographic data so that the industry stays ahead of the challenges it faces from competition around the region.
When he is not at the park, Zishan is an avid traveller who loves to explore new places and experiences in search for inspiration and ideas.
