Tabacón Introduces ESCAPE Wellness Program
According to a recent Amex Trendex survey, 68% of travelers say they’re likely to improve their mental well-being by taking a vacation in the next year. Tapping into this outlook, Tabacón Thermal Resort & Spa in Costa Rica partnered with Dr. Natalie Christine Dattilo, instructor at Harvard Medical School and founder of mental health consultancy Priority Wellness Group, to launch a wellness program for resort guests and staff members.
“ESCAPE to Tabacón” includes sensory, emotional, and physical experiences, created with six mind-body strategies from Dattilo’s ESCAPE approach: Exercise, Sleep, Connect, Appreciate, Play, Exhale.
“Travel is a vibrant way to restore fundamental tenets of health and well-being through sleep, play, and connecting with nature,” Dattilo says.
The “ESCAPE to Tabacón” package includes a five-night stay and experiences such as horseback riding, a waterfall hike, a zip-lining adventure, whitewater rafting, swimming in natural thermal pools, and a private yoga session. With sustainability as a pillar of the program, guests can participate in an on-site tree planting.
Additionally, the wellness program’s staff enrichment plan is available to all Tabacón employees, offering mental health support, preventative health care, and resources.
Katmandu Park Punta Cana Coming Soon to the Dominican Republic
Reality will be turned upside down when Katmandu Park Punta Cana opens this fall in the Dominican Republic. The theme park will be part of a new entertainment, dining, and retail destination, led by Falcon’s Beyond Global, an entertainment company specializing in intellectual property (IP) creation and expansion, in partnership with Meliá Hotels International.
The more than $350 million project has been developed in two phases. Phase one includes Katmandu Park Punta Cana, which will introduce the Caribbean to beloved Katmandu characters and stories, already popular with visitors of Katmandu Park in Mallorca, Spain. The theme park will feature new ride technologies and interactive storytelling. Phase two will add world-renowned brands to create a resort destination.
Falcon’s Beyond also recently detailed its expansion plans for the Katmandu IP through its alliance with Epic Story Media to move beyond a theme park experience, across a global entertainment market, including content, gaming, and consumer products.
