ORLANDO, FLORIDA (February 23, 2023) – IAAPA’s first-ever North America Trade Summit will take place in San Diego California next month. The four-day event will let attendees expand their network and discover new products and services to keep their business on the cutting edge of success.
Speakers for this event include George Walker, CEO & Founder, The League of Extraordinary Dining; Cherrie Davis, SHRM-SCP, Army Combat Veteran, Author, Founder and CEO ShiftForward Consulting; and Troy Sacco, SVP of Sales & Marketing, Five Star Parks & Attractions.
Walker will speak on “Authentic Reality.” Attendees will understand how the industry has evolved from a Service Economy into an Experience Economy, and how the popularity of Virtual Reality is shifting into a desire for what this presentation defines as Authentic Reality. Drawing on his personal experience as a creative director, writer, and industry thinker, he will look at current trends to help provide context and clues that look at this “next reality” and how technology enhances the guest experience rather than drives it.
Walker, along with his fellow founders David Perry and Emad Shahid, has recently announced the launch of the “League of Extraordinary Dining,” a new company that will merge theme design with experiential dining for the creation, construction, and operation of a series of unique venues across the state of Florida and beyond.
In her session titled “YOUR MOVE! COURAGEOUS LEADERS THINK, CREATE, REPEAT,” Davis’s keynote will elevate leaders’ ability to thrive and inspire in an increasingly connected and competitive environment. Leaders’ capabilities must keep pace as their workforce and customers evolve. Leaving behind stoic styles of leadership, Davis replaces conventional practices with actionable insights and techniques.
Sacco will tackle the importance of using specific tools with insights that can be used to hire better cultural fits, match up leader and teammates personalities, and using his 5 Simple & Effective Rules of Behavioral Management.
Taking place at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla at Aventine from March 20 to 23, attendees of the North America Trade Summit will enjoy educational guided tours to world class facilities, plus an educational conference led by global experts who will inspire them to grow their business to new heights.
Other agenda highlights include exclusive attendee only access to the Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, the San Diego Zoo, SeaWorld San Diego, Belmont Park and the USS Midway Museum.
“The first-ever IAAPA North America Trade Summit is sure to inspire all who attend,” said Michael Shelton, vice president and executive director, IAAPA North America. “It is a rare opportunity to learn from industry leaders, connect with attraction suppliers and visit top attractions in the San Diego area for a behind the scenes look at how other members are adapting to our ever-changing landscape.”
