On Thursday, IAAPA Expo Europe welcomed four U.K.-based theme park influencers to discuss their experience creating content and building relationships with attractions.
Moderated by Tom Anstey, Editor in Chief at Planet Attractions, the panel consisted of YouTuber Jack Silkstone, Videographer Kieran Adams, and ParkSpill’s Jo and Sean Dyer.
The panelists spoke of how their passion for creating social media content has led to long standing relationships with Europe’s parks and attractions. Jo and Sean Dyer started their YouTube channel named “ParkSpil”’ in 2019 and quickly caught the attention of Merlin Entertainments. Since then, they have created marketing and social media content for many of the operator’s U.K. attractions.
For Jack Silkstone and Kieran Adams it is a similar story, where their popular coverage of Thorpe Park Resort has led to them collaborating on the park’s Halloween event this year.
“Influencers are free assets to parks that can generate hundreds of thousands of views,” says Sean Dyer of ParkSpill.
The panel encouraged attractions to work with influencers, who can deliver content to untapped audiences. Given the immense reach that social media has today, influencers represent a unique and cost-effective way for attractions to connect with audiences and share messaging.
